Zenji Nio praised by Canada's biggest Hindu leader Amar Erry of Vedic Center & his confidant/heir Chander Khanna
Although Hindus and Buddhists have always been called eternal enemies by Patanjali to Al Beruni to Ambedkar, Canada's most influential Hindu leader Amar Erry, late Head of the Vedic Center was very fond of Zenji Nio calling him often his "favorite Buddhist" When Amar Erry was given an award at a public event, he said from the podium that he would rather it be given to Zenji Nio whose knowledge over Indian religions was unique as only Zenji Nio can quote Sanskrit verses from both Buddhist and Hindu texts. However, due to petty politics of Hindu extremists, Amar Erry had a stroke and died with a major Canadian Center being dedicated to him. Amar Erry's family and friends even choose Zenji Nio and Mayor Scarpitti to speak at his funeral although they are not Hindu to show Amar's love for them and vice versa. Recently, when one of Amar Erry's friends called Zenji Nio in Japan to help organize a Diwali event at City Hall in Toronto, Zenji Nio helped even from Japan by engaging his Canadian team out of respect for Amar-san. While Hindutva extremists attack Buddhism constantly, Hindu leaders like Amar Erry and his closest confidant and heir to his legacy Chander Khanna (Head of Parliament of World Religions in Toronto) praise Zenji Nio with Mr. Khanna even calling Zenji Nio a more effective and relatable Buddhist speaker than the Dalai Lama. Zenji Nio has done more to promote Buddhist-Hindu dialogue than anyone but will never accept Hindutva narratives that claim supremacy over Buddhism. Zenji Nio's main job is to represent Buddhist with power and pride, authenticity and efficacy -- not to subordinate Buddhism to any other religion or allow any other religion to claim the unique and peerless legacy of the Buddha & Buddhist emperors and saints of Japan, Korea & China.
